Title:
  Grizzly Rides in Heaven
Read:
Lauren, our middle daughter, seemed to have a knack for saying the unexpected when she was little. One time, as we were driving by a cemetery she asked, “Why do people go camping after they die?” She explained how right after someone dies there’s always a tent in the cemetery (you know, the canopy for the ceremony), so, obviously, that is the first order of business upon death. Camping. Now there’s an interesting twist on the streets of gold theory. Heaven as a celestial National Park, like Yellowstone, filled with RVs, tents, sleeping bags and campfires. Mt. Zion would have the faces of the trinity carved in the side. Old Faithful, spouting holy water, and it wouldn’t smell like sulfur anymore. That smell would be reserved for a place just, uh, south of there. I wonder if there’ll be signs that say, “Don’t feed the bears.” I’m hoping we’ll get to ride them. That would be cool—grizzly rides. Okay, so maybe I don’t have a clue what Heaven will really be like. I guess we’ll all just have to wait and be surprised.
