Read:		It was a Monday morning. Early. I walked into a recording studio where I was going to be cutting the vocals for a commercial. The singer wasn’t thrilled about doing this at the crack-o-dawn on Monday, but he started singing. It wasn’t going well. He’d get one take where the pitch was good, but the feel wasn’t happening. Then one where the feel was good, but the pitch was bad. The engineer finally suggested a program called Auto-Tune, which rounds errant notes up or down, electronically, to the nearest true pitch. I didn’t want to do this at first because sometimes it makes the track sound mechanical, fake, but this engineer did it so gracefully that you couldn’t even hear it. On the way home I was thinking about my life, the Monday-morning-off-key-vocal-track that is me. If God wasn’t such a loving producer he would have trashed my track and me and said, “This guy just can’t sing in tune.” But he didn’t. He ran me through Auto-Tune, Auto-Forgive. It’s good to have a heavenly producer who values us so much that he created a way for our lives to be in tune.
