Title:		People are my Favorite Songs
Read:		You know what I love? Cruising in my old, beat-up convertible with the radio blasting tunes from the Oldies station. The other day I was out cruisin’—sun up/top down, and Blood Sweat and Tears came on the radio with that old song, You Made Me So Very Happy. Remember that? Then it was America with “I’ve been through the desert on a Horse with No Name.” I still don’t know what that song’s about. It got me thinking, though, about—friends. Friends are like oldies songs. They enter our lives unannounced and then they reenter, randomly. They trickle in and through our lives and leave us humming. Sometimes they surprise us, and the longer it’s been since we’ve heard their voice, the sweeter it sounds. I think God must really get this whole community/friendship thing. He gives us these human beings, these songs, these friends to accompany us through life. We get to live and process and share and love. What a gift. Yeah, people are my favorite songs.
