New York Crazies |
Read: |
|
New York is full of crazies. What a great place for a Surprise Me experiment. Nothing is typical. You got scantily clad cowboys selling iPods next to street corner preachers trying to evangelize people by screaming, spitting, and flailing their Bibles at them. It doesn’t fit in well with our whole Minnesota-nice thing. I wonder how Jesus would have been viewed had he come back in 2006 to New York instead of Bethlehem? They’d probably see him as a crazy. Not because of his clothing, or lack thereof, or his antagonistic evangelistic style, but because he’d love people on the street, he’d approach them, talk to them, touch them, befriend them, help them. He wouldn’t look down his nose on the ‘crazies’ like we do. He would love them. And who’s to say we aren’t the crazies anyhow. We may not be as ‘normal’ as we think. Yeah, I think Jesus would have liked New York…because, well surprisingly, he just flat out loves people. Crazy, huh? |
