Pamela Anderson Theology |

We’re in New York, vacationing, and we tried to get in to see the Letterman show, but no luck. We noticed a huge crowd by the back door of the theater so we went to check it out. Two women who happened upon this scene sarcastically asked, “What’s all the fuss about? Is Jesus Christ on the show tonight?” A photographer shot back, “No, someone even better. Pamela Anderson.” There was a hoard of ravenous fans and photographers crowding the back door, mostly men with bugging eyes and a bad case of chin drool. Security was battling with them trying to maintain a clear walkway. When she finally came out, the droolers screamed and yelled for her attention as she just dove for her limo. But a minute later she got back out and proceeded to pose and sign autographs. Evidently there’s no lime light in limos. Turns out she needed her fans as badly as they needed her. Kinda made me sad to think how we as humans wrestle to be loved, and look for it in places it can’t be found. Love didn’t arrive in a limo, but in the outstretched arms of a surprisingly forgiving God. |
