New York Bumper Cars |

I’m sitting in seat 5B, looking down from 30,000 feet. Mary, the girls and I are off to New York for a couple days of vacation. We land, hop a cab…and the fun begins. Our cabby-slash-Indy car driver proceeded to give us a thrill ride to rival any Six Flags roller coaster. At one point he sideswiped another cab producing a 3-foot scratch and dent scar on our yellow rocket ship. Neither driver even reacted, or stopped, or called the cops. When we ‘landed’ in front of our hotel, a street preacher on a box was yelling, “God loves everybody, God loves sinners, God even loves your sin!” Huh? Must be Times Square street theology. One thing’s for sure; New York will probably produce its share of surprises. I think they have a daily SQ, Surprise Quota, in New York. If you don’t get at least a dozen surprises per day, somebody ain’t doin’ their job. I’m looking forward to tomorrow and praying, “Surprise me, God” in New York. |
