Read:		So how’s your Surprise Me experiment going so far? When I started praying “Surprise Me, God” every day, I had no idea what to expect—what it would look like, what it was going to be. But I had a pretty good idea what it wasn’t going to be. I knew it wasn’t a brilliant idea, cuz, well, I came up with it. I didn’t go to Harvard, never on the chess team. This was my idea for a simple exercise in knowing God. Also, it’s not God as a genie in a bottle thing. Praying “Surprise Me, God” does not automatically get you three wishes and a front-row parking place at the mall. God is not my robot or my tool. I mean, if I could figure out how to manipulate him, then I’d be God, and I’m pretty sure that’s not the deal. When you pray, “Surprise Me, God” today, let it be an honest, humble invitation for the creator of the universe to step into your life however he pleases. Trust that he has your best interest in mind, that he loves you dearly.
